Road Trip

Well we are off tonight on a 16 hour trek to Boston.... The men say that we will get there by noon tomorrow.... but I guess that's if we only stop for gas.... hmmm I think they will not let me pee for 16 hours.... atleast I will get lots of sleep and will get to watch dvds and such :) We will be there until Wednesday when we do the drive back... :P
Well I have finished the second bag for charity. It is a blue/purple wool felt with green felt leaves sewn all over it and then it has hand dyed wool felt flowers sewn among the leaves... The inside is a very non-me fabric that is just a muted blue paisley. I dunno what I will do with the extras from that. Hopefully when I return we will get our camera back and I can post some more photos... :)

Saturday Night

Well last week was a busy work week, so here is the first post of the week. I have been buying lots of presents on Etsy for my family in England. One of my favorite passtimes is buying presents. If there was a job for a professional present buyer I could definetly do it! I have been creating some patches out of felt for my Etsy site. I made a Rubber Duck one that I have now sewn onto a onesie. It is adorable and I love it. I think I might give it to a kid to try out and see if it holds up to kid-wear. I have also been making some new felt buttons, which are now my favorite thing to make. I have also figured out what a "French Market" is and have emailed 2 Market heads for info on getting a table at one of these French Markets. I have also emailed Marie from the Sampler to see if I can donate some of my felt pins and patches to either the August or September Samplers. I would love to receive one, just to see all the fun things you get... :) I will post new photos when we get our digital camera back. :)

Strawberry Bag for Orphanage in the Congo

Here is my strawberry bag that I have just finished for the Orphanage in the Congo. The Oklahoma City Zoo is having a silent auction to help out this orphanage: http://www.heartsandhandsinternational.org/index.php?page=12 The bag measures 4"x 6" and is 4.5" deep. The strap is 18 inches long.
The pattern on the outside is one of my favorite to applique and embroider. The outside of the bag is wool felt with craft felt embellishments. It is embroidered with multicolored thread. The inside is a strawberry cotton fabric with two green wool felt pockets. The strap is the same strawberry cotton fabric but it is strengthened with felt and thread.

Thursday June 15th

Well as I type there are 4 helicopters flying overhead...I guess there was a random package that fell out of a freight train full of toxic chemicals... great... :)
Last night I created three new felt buttons :) Two of them have these really unique tiny painted guitars beads on them and the other one has silver dragonfly wings on it.... I love the way they came out.
At school I had the children make fish and starfish using their hand and arm prints... those came out well too. I can't wait to put them up in the classroom. :)

Okay... well here is the first day. I started this to show of my creations to friends and family abroad. We'll see how it goes :). Today it's rainning :P So I can't take new photos of my felt buttons, I will have to wait until tomorrow. Tonight I will be working on my Strawberry Bag for the Charity, as well as playing with the new felt buttons. I just went and bought some new Strawberry fabric for the bag :)...and some new fun beads for the buttons :).... Will post some photos soon :)
